This one-day adventure in Kibale National Park, known as the “Primate Capital of the World,” offers a thrilling experience with chimpanzee trekking, nature walks, and an encounter with the beautiful forest scenery. The tour is ideal for visitors with limited time who still wish to explore Uganda’s rich biodiversit

6:00 am – Pick Up & Transfer to Kibale National Park
Your journey starts early in the morning from Fort Portal or nearby lodges. Drive through scenic tea plantations and lush countryside to the park headquarters at Kanyanchu Visitor Centre.

7:30 am – Arrival & Briefing
Upon arrival, you’ll meet your ranger guide who will brief you about chimpanzee trekking rules, forest safety, and what to expect during the trek.

8:00 am – Chimpanzee Trekking Begins
Venture deep into the tropical rainforest in search of the habituated chimpanzee communities. Along the way, spot other primates such as black-and-white colobus, red-tailed monkeys, and grey-cheeked mangabeys.
Once you locate the chimpanzees, enjoy one hour observing their fascinating behavior — feeding, playing, and grooming each other.

12:30 pm – Lunch Break
Return to the visitor center or your lodge for lunch. Enjoy a local or packed meal surrounded by the tranquil forest atmosphere.

2:00 pm – Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary Walk
In the afternoon, visit Bigodi Community Wetland, a community-run eco-project rich in birdlife, butterflies, and monkeys. This 2-hour guided walk offers a closer look at local conservation efforts and village life.

4:30 pm – Cultural Visit (Optional)
Meet the local people in Bigodi village for a short cultural interaction. Learn about traditional banana brewing, crafts, and storytelling from the Batooro community.

5:30 pm – Return Journey
After a full day of exploration, begin your journey back to Fort Portal or your lodge, marking the end of an unforgettable adventure.
