Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala / Entebbe → Fort Portal → Kibale Forest

  • Pickup from Kampala or Entebbe.

  • Drive through Mubende and Kyenjojo towns to Fort Portal.

  • Optional stop at Ndali–Kasenda Crater Lakes.

  • Continue to Kibale Forest National Park; check-in at lodge near Kanyanchu Visitor Centre.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Wetland Walk

  • Morning chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest.

  • Afternoon Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary walk in Bigodi village.

  • Visit local community projects for cultural interaction.

  • Optional evening visit to Fort Portal town.

  • Overnight near Kibale.

Day 3: Kibale → Kasese → Queen Elizabeth NP → Bwindi

  • Drive through Kasese, scenic views of Rwenzori Mountains.

  • Pass through Queen Elizabeth NP, stop at Kazinga Channel or Katwe Salt Lake.

  • Optional wildlife spotting at Ishasha sector for tree-climbing lions.

  • Continue south into Kanungu or Kisoro district to reach Bwindi Impenetrable NP (Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga, or Nkuringo sector).

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Cultural Experience

  • Morning gorilla trekking in Bwindi.

  • One-hour encounter with a gorilla family.

  • Afternoon visit to Batwa pygmy communities.

  • Overnight in Bwindi.

Day 5: Bwindi → Kabale → Ntungamo → Mbarara → Masaka → Kampala/Entebbe

  • Drive north through Kabale and Ntungamo.

  • Lunch stop in Mbarara city.

  • Stop at Kayabwe Equator line for photos and souvenirs.

  • Evening arrival in Kampala/Entebbe, concluding the safari.

  • Western Uganda: Kyenjojo, Fort Portal, Ndali–Kasenda Crater Lakes, Kibale Forest, Bigodi, Kasese, Queen Elizabeth NP (Kazinga, Katwe, Ishasha).

  • Southwestern Uganda: Kanungu, Kisoro, Bwindi (Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga, Nkuringo), Kabale, Ntungamo, Mbarara.
