When Jennifer and Marco planned their honeymoon, they wanted a trip that combined romance, adventure, and the wild beauty of Uganda. Their dream came true on a 3-day safari from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park, with two magical nights at Mweya Safari Lodge, perfectly nestled along the Kazinga Channel.
The couple set off early from Kampala, excited to begin their honeymoon adventure. Their first stop was the Uganda Equator at Kayabwe, where they enjoyed a delightful breakfast and took playful photos standing on both sides of the world a symbolic start to their journey together.
The drive continued through rolling hills, tea plantations, and charming villages. They made a brief stop at the second Equator crossing near Queen Elizabeth National Park before entering the park.
By afternoon, they arrived at Mweya Safari Lodge, where they were warmly welcomed with flowers and refreshments. Their private room offered breathtaking views of the Kazinga Channel. Later, they enjoyed a sunset game drive, spotting elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes before returning to the lodge for a romantic dinner under the stars.
After an early breakfast, Jennifer and Marco went on a thrilling morning game drive through the Kasenyi plains. The golden sunrise revealed lions resting by the roadside, elephants roaming freely, and Uganda kobs grazing a magical wildlife experience that made their honeymoon unforgettable.
In the afternoon, they set out on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, spotting hippos, crocodiles, and colorful birds gliding over the calm waters.
That evening, Mweya Lodge arranged a private candle-lit dinner by the water. Surrounded by lanterns and roses, Marco knelt down and proposed once more, creating a truly magical and unforgettable moment.
Their final morning began with a peaceful breakfast overlooking the Kazinga Channel, followed by a short nature walk around the lodge. They then checked out and began the scenic drive back to Kampala, stopping for photos and lunch along the way.
Jennifer and Marco hired a 4x4 Land Cruiser for tourists at $250 per day, covering all three days. This total of $810 included the vehicle rental, fuel, and an experienced guide/driver. All other expenses, such as meals, lodge accommodation, and park fees, were settled by the couple directly.
From breakfast at the Equator to lions on the morning game drive, a sunset boat cruise, and a romantic proposal dinner, Jennifer and Marco’s 3-day honeymoon safari was a perfect blend of adventure, romance, and the beauty of Uganda.
Special thanks to Mweya Safari Lodge for making their stay truly unforgettable providing comfort, stunning views, and the perfect setting for a honeymoon full of memories.
