Note: Short stopovers (Luweero, Nakasongola, and Kafu)
Traveling to Masindi by public transport is convenient and affordable. To avoid traffic congestion, especially within Kampala, it is advisable to begin the journey early in the morning.
Option 1: Matatu (Taxi) from New Taxi Park
Proceed to New Taxi Park in Kampala and board a matatu (taxi) traveling directly to Masindi. This option is flexible and commonly used by travelers.
The journey takes approximately five hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. Short stopovers are made along the way for refreshments and passenger convenience.
Option 2: Link Bus to Masindi
Alternatively, proceed to Link Bus Park along Nkrumah Road in Kampala. Board a Link Bus service traveling directly to Masindi. This option offers a more organized schedule, better seating comfort, and fewer stops.
Arrival in Masindi
Both the matatu (taxi) and Link Bus arrive in Masindi town. Upon arrival, our guide will meet you and transfer you to the Eshande Safaris office for a short briefing, confirmation of arrangements, and final preparations.
Proceeding to Murchison Falls National Park
After the office briefing, you will depart Masindi for Murchison Falls National Park with your guide. The drive takes approximately 1.5–2 hours, passing through scenic countryside and rural communities.
On arrival at the park gate, entry formalities will be completed, after which you will proceed with the planned activities or transfer to your lodge, depending on the itinerary.
